Dear Blog: Life as of 7/11
I finally got around to finishing up all my school stuff. Whee! Now I get to have 5 weeks of free time before ... college. But yeah, done with high school.
Today is my mom's birthday, so I took her to see the Prairie Home Companion movie, because we have a mutual interest in the radio show it is about. Well, it was strange and boring, but oh well. It's the thought that counts, right?
So, in the computer world, I have thoroughly exhausted my interest in Sim City 4. This was aided, perhaps, by the recent acquisition (legal, that is) of Rome: Total War. So, now I'm all addicted to that.
At work on Monday, there was this lady who came in with two kids. One was probably 4 months old, and the other was about 2. She went to use the computer for 2 hours, with the 4-month-old sitting next to her on the floor in a baby carrier thing. It was bad enough that this baby was screaming and crying for 2 hours straight. But then she completely ignored her 2-year-old, who was climbing and jumping on the desks and chairs, and trying to color on the LCD monitors with little pencils, and running all over the library. So then, when the 2-year-old got stuck in the elevator, the mom ran over to get her out, leaving the sobbing baby unattended, which prompted even noisier sobbing. Of course, once she grabbed the 2-year-old and held her on her lap, the 2-year-old started screaming and whining too. So, 2 hours of this. It was not fun.
So yeah, random story of the week.
